Fiance’s grandmother died - what do I wear to the funeral?

lilirishale asked:

His grandmother passed away after being ill for some time. I’m thinking black or dark work-type clothes (slacks, a nice shirt, etc.), but I don’t want to show up and look too formal. I know it’s not a fashion show, but I’ve never met the majority of the family coming to this funeral, and I don’t want to make a horrible impression either - the wedding is set for next year, and it’s likely I won’t see these people again until then. What do people wear to funerals these days?
Thank you, everyone. I knew the basics, but I have not been to a funeral since I was a small child, and I wore a pink dress to that. I just wanted to make sure what I had planned (black pants with a black shirt of some sort) wasn’t way out of line. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts, thank you all so much, we really appreciate it. :)

Missing?

(angry) *** Guy asked:

I leave on April 4th (in 7 days!!) for Greece, and I will be gone from April 4th to April 12th (9 days inclusive). Here’s what I know I have to pack:
10-12 shirts (extras just in case one gets dirty)
9 shorts (plus a few pairs of jeans if it’s colder)
a semi-formal thing (dress pants, oxford shirt and tie)
10 boxer shorts
3 or 4 undershirts
10 pairs of socks
athletic shorts/t-shirt for pajamas
Good walking shoes
Sandals for the beach
Swimgear
I know the TSA 3-1-1 regulations
No comb–not enough hair
Deodorant
Razor and shaving cream
toothbrush and toothpaste
mouthwash
Purell
kleenex packs
shampoo and conditioner and hand lotion
nail clippers
Camera (digital) and plenty of memory and batteries
DVD player and MP3 player for the plane (it’s a 14 hr flight)
A good book for the flight
Can you think of anything else that I’m forgetting? I’ve got my passport in a holder to wear under my clothes and I’m going to put money in it too, I need to get some Euro before I go.
Yes, I do have cologne (Ralph Lauren Polo Blue). I don’t need a hat because I tan, and I’ve got Transitions glasses so they change to sunglasses in the UV light.
I can speak some Greek (most travel phrases I would need) and I can read Greek fluently.

beach wedding fashion question

miss America asked:

my fiance and i will be getting married on the beach. my fiance is going to wear light khakis and a light blue button up shirt. tucking in his shirt seems a little formal since we’ll be on the beach w/o any shoes. would it look ok without being tucked in if it isn’t squared off at the bottom?

Help with liability disclaimer?

Reed S asked:

I need some help making this sound more formal…I’m selling t-shirts that reference something that happened during a homecoming senior skit at my highschool, and they violate school policy. I need this disclaimer to be foolproof so I dont end up taking the fall for this if someone wears one of these shirts at school.

Here’s kind of a rough draft, could you guys help me out?:

I, ___________________, understand that the “What is the definition of defense?” t-shirts may violate school policy, and therefore understand that wearing these shirts on school property may result in disciplinary action. ********** assumes no liability if I decide to wear this shirt on school property.

Correct clothing for ToysRUs Interview?

RedFox asked:

I have a group and solo interview at Toys ‘R’ Us tomorrow. And yes, I am that desperate that I had to apply there. Because it is a retail kids store, I think a suit is a little overkill for appearance. Right now, it’s a toss-up between khakis and a two-button polo, or a complete button up shirt. With or without a tie, but obviously I’d prefer without.

What formal attire should I wear that is not too formal, but not too sloppily casual?
